The COVID 19 pandemic created circumstances few people were prepared to face. Hospitals worked under enormous pressure, police personnel remained present across public areas, and access to protective and medical essentials became increasingly important. During that difficult period, Anjor Foundation directed its efforts towards practical support for those working and responding on the ground.
The Foundation extended assistance to Pune Police personnel and also supported a hospital with resources needed during the pandemic.
Beside Those On Duty
Police personnel continued carrying out their responsibilities across Pune City and the PCMC area while public life was severely disrupted. Their work required regular interaction with people at a time when personal protection had become essential.
Anjor Foundation supported police personnel in Bharti Vidhyapith, Bibewadi, Sahakar Nagar and Sangvi by supplying 1,000 N95 masks along with sanitisers.
Support Where It Mattered
The pressure of the pandemic extended deeply into healthcare. Oxygen became one of the most important requirements for patients facing severe illness, while hospitals worked continuously to manage increasing needs.
During this period, Anjor Foundation supported Sai Care Multi Specialist Hospital by providing 10 oxygen cylinders. It was a focused contribution made at a time when access to oxygen carried critical importance for patient care.
A Bond Built Over Time
The Foundation’s relationship with Pune Police extends beyond the circumstances of the pandemic. On Raksha Bandhan, female members of Anjor Foundation have tied Rakhis to police personnel and distributed sweets as a gesture honouring their contribution.
These moments reflect another side of social responsibility. Support can take the form of essential resources during a crisis, while at other times it can simply mean recognising people whose work often continues quietly in the background.
Humanity During Uncertainty
A crisis reveals how closely people’s lives are connected. A mask provided to someone working in public spaces, a sanitiser supplied for protection or an oxygen cylinder reaching a hospital may appear to be individual contributions. During the pandemic, each had an immediate and practical purpose.
For Anjor Foundation, standing together during COVID 19 was an extension of the values that have guided its journey since September 2009. Compassion gains meaning when it responds to the reality in front of us.
